Rs 1.71-crore indoor stadium to be built on Madras Christian College campus

CHENNAI: Madras Christian College here has taken up an initiative to build an indoor stadium for students at a cost of Rs 1.71 crore.
The stadium, which is partly funded by the UGC, will have a basket ball court, volley ball court and three badminton courts. The work for the stadium is expected to be complete in a year.
MCC principal Dr Alexander Jesudasan said, "It is very important to bring together physical and mental health together.The stadium will help the students achieve this objective."
J M Vishwanath, physical education director at the college, said, "Students are extremely happy with this initiative. We are extremely proud to build an indoor stadium which will meet international standards."
